YELLOWSTONE FAMILY PARK

Land Design, Inc. recently had the opportunity to lead the planning, design and construction of Billings’ newest neighborhood park: Yellowstone Family Park. Located on park land that was dedicated in the late 50’s, Land Design, Inc. worked together with the neighborhood in the development of a Park Master Plan that met the evolving neighborhood’s needs and expectations. Land Design, Inc. facilitated a planning process that developed consensus with the neighbors and the City of Billings which had not been achieved in over 50 years. On approval of the Master Plan by the Billings City Council, Land Design, Inc. was engaged to develop construction documents for implementation of the master plan for the park. The park design incorporates sculptural land forms, xeriscape principles, and native/naturalized planting areas in addition to playgrounds that facilitate a wide range of play value through imaginative play. The park has proven successful in reinvigorating a mature neighborhood in Billings West End. The project construction was under the oversight of Land Design, Inc. and came in on-budget and on-time.
